Job summary Bayleaf Care Home is a beautiful newly built residential home situated in the picturesque town of Huntingdon, set to open in June 2025.
Barchester Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider, is looking for a qualified Second Chef to join their team and deliver high-quality, nutritious, and well-balanced meals for the residents.
Main duties of the job As a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and create a warm, efficient, and fun environment in the kitchen.
You will assist the Head Chef in menu development and ensure that the meals meet the residents' dietary needs and preferences.

Due to open in June 2025, this stunning 60 bed premises will welcome new employees to site in May 2025.Are you a qualified Chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?
Working as a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks.
You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential You will need to hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, have a good understanding of nutrition, and experience working with fresh, seasonal food.
You should also have a personable and warm approach, the ability to create a welcoming environment, and a good understanding of HACCP.
