About the role and about you The Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace is open to the public from the end of March 2025 to the end of October 2025.We are the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world.
The palaces are the setting for the stories that shape us all, and we're bringing them to people in ways that mean more to them.
We want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories we share.We have an exciting seasonal opportunity to join our team as Play Garden Attendants.Our Magic Garden is designed to engage, inspire, excite, and surprise our young visitors and their families, providing a fun and stimulating experience that the whole family can explore together, with elements that appeal to adults as well as children.
Our Magic Garden offers children a stimulating and challenging environment for them to explore and develop their abilities.
As the Play Garden Attendant, you will provide a presence in the Garden to ensure this can be explored safely.Your main duties will involve:Acting as the first point of contact for visitorsMaintaining and checking play equipmentBeing watchful for over-capacity problems and congestionKeeping the garden and play areas cleanCommunicating the Magic Garden guidelines to visitorsCommunicating with Garden management teamWe are looking for responsible individuals with strong customer service skills, who can confidently engage with all visitors and help them enjoy this unique family play area, and who have a suitable level of fitness in order to carry out the fundamental requirements of the job profile.We are ideally seeking someone who has some experience of working in a children's care or play environment and has also gained some first aid and customer relation skills.
A recent DBS check is important as is a willingness to help us maintain the gardens and water features.As the garden will be open seven days a week at the very peak season, there will be a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota basis.Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce.
