Research & Development / R&D Scientist who has a passion for science and learning with a Chemistry degree and the ability to carry out laboratory work following standard operating procedures is required to join the companys Early Development Team based in Knutsford, Cheshire, North West England.
Recent Chemistry Graduates Considered SALARY: starting from £27,811 per annum + Benefits LOCATION: Knutsford, Cheshire, North West England (WA16) JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 37.5 per week JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Research & Development / R&D Scientist who has a passion for science and learning with a Chemistry degree and the ability to carry out laboratory work following standard operating procedures.
Working as a Research & Development / R&D Scientist your main activities will involve dark room working where youll be preparing formulations and coating work in low light level conditions.
You will also work under normal daylight conditions in other laboratories involving the preparation of dispersions/emulsions, assisting with analytical characterisation techniques such as UV/Vis, FT-IR, particle sizing, rheometry.
You will assist with organic chemistry techniques such as TLC, rotary evaporation, distillation, reflux and recrystallisation.
Youll submit samples to the Quality Service team for further photographic analysis.
When youve got some experience, the company will give you time to conduct project work of your own to develop your career, knowledge and passion.
As the Research & Development / R&D Scientist youll be responsible for creating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for customer and internal use.
This will involve inputting information into specialist software and using your chemical knowledge to understand and verify the output.
The software is easy, its your chemical knowledge which will be vital.
If you have a natural love of science and learning you can expect to learn various aspects of nano, organic, inorganic and polymer chemistry in addition to image and photo physics, coating and drying technologies.
The companys science and its application are niche and not taught at university which is exciting, and youll have a team of experienced scientists around you to learn from.
