4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company with the ambition to provide high quality, synthetic DNA for use in gene therapies and vaccine platforms.
We are expanding our research and development team at our site just North of Cambridge, UK to facilitate GMP production of our DNA products for use in mRNA and viral applications, as well as developing non-viral nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery.
We are looking for a curious, enthusiastic scientist to join our template generation team.
The role will focus on the development and optimisation of techniques used in process development involved in synthetic DNA synthesis.
We seek a motivated and organised scientist with experience in molecular biology techniques, eager to learn new skills in a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities: Working as a part of the template generation team and Molecular biology, the successful candidate will be trained in to deliver projects to a high standard and will use cutting edge techniques, including experimental design, synthetic biology.
Plan and execute experiments, including assessing problems and troubleshooting to ensure successful project delivery in a timely fashion Work collaboratively and support the R&D functions of the Company Attend and participate in relevant meetings, training, and development sessions Undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holder's skills and experience as requested Keep up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments Establish and maintain a detailed record of all the experiments and results generated in the lab Person Specification: BSc or MSc in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related life science field Hands-on experience working in biology or chemistry labs Experience with lab techniques such as gel electrophoresis, PCR and DNA quantification.
Experience working with E. coli and plasmid preps is desirable Experience with DNA assembly techniques is desirable Ability to test and troubleshoot assays and techniques Excellent team working and communication skills Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail Ability to analyse samples using scientific instruments and follow safety rules Clean and maintain equipment's Collect, Interpret, present experimental data Must hold the right to work in the UK What we can offer: Competitive salary + private healthcare + pension contributions + life assurance To apply for this role send you CV and covering letter to ****** No agencies.
