Closing Date2025-01-31Scientific Services SchedulerLocation: Flexible, must be located within the company's area (from Isle of Wight to Kent) – Hybrid Approach Perm/FTC: PermanentHours:15 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday)Are you a detail-oriented professional with a scientific background, a knack for problem-solving, and a commitment to ensuring water quality excellence?We're looking for a proactive Scientific Services Schedulerto join our team and help Southern Water meet its regulatory and operational requirements for drinking water quality.
This part-time role offers the opportunity to play a key role in protecting public health by maintaining and optimising sampling programmes and responding effectively to regulatory requirements.About the RoleIn this critical position, you'llbe responsible for creating, monitoring, and maintaining annual sampling programmes that comply with the DWI Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016.
You'll also schedule additional samples in response to operational needs and ensure data integrity within LabWare by performing daily reporting and regulatory submissions.You'll collaborate closely with internal teams to process data amendments, respond to sample breaches, and ensure the accurate and timely reporting of results.
By leveraging your expertise in scientific protocols, SQL, and data analysis, you'll contribute to Southern Water's mission of delivering safe, high-quality water to customers.What You'll Bring:To excel in this role, you'll need:Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders up to Team Manager level.Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.You would ideally have a scientific background with knowledge of testing methods and protocols and be proficient in SQL, having experience with complex software systems, preferably in a scheduling environment.Why Join Us?At Southern Water, our purpose is to deliver water for life while enhancing wellbeing, protecting the environment, and supporting the economy.
