Science Graduates needed for work in Secondary Schools in Southampton!
Teaching Personnel are working with a number of Secondary Schools in Southampton and the surrounding areas, looking for Cover Supervisors to support their Science departments. We have full time, part time and ad-hoc work available. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining learning continuity in the absence of the regular teacher.
Your responsibilities will include: Classroom Management: Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring a calm and focused environment where students can complete their assigned work.
Implementing Lesson Plans: Deliver pre-set lesson plans and activities to students, helping them engage with the material and stay on task.
Behaviour Management : Uphold the school's behaviour policy by promoting respectful and responsible behaviour, addressing minor disruptions, and helping students focus on their work.
Supporting Learning Needs : Provide guidance to students who may need extra support, encouraging their participation and understanding in each lesson.
Building Positive Relationships: Establish a rapport with students to encourage a supportive and structured classroom environment.
Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to understand students' specific needs and contribute to the school's improvement journey.
To be succesful in this role you will: be a graduate of a Science subject - general Science, Physics, Biology or Chemistry.
Other BSc Degrees can also be considered Have excellent communication skills to effectiviely engage with students, parents and teachers as needed Be adaptable and resilient to respond to the varying classroom dynamics and challenged Experience working with children or young people is desirable but isn't required - this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in schools before pursuing a teaching career. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
