We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Staff Nurse to our compassionate and innovative team based at Wokingham.
Whether you are an experienced staff nurse or have recently qualified, we will ensure you receive devoted, effective support from both your manager and colleagues within your team.
Working within the Wokingham area to deliver core and targeted services to children aged 5-19 and their families, you will require excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, along with great communication skills and a passion for working with children and families whilst being able to adapt to continuing change.
Please note we cannot consider your application if you do not have a UK driving license and access to a vehicle which can be used for work purposes.
Base: Your base will be Wokingham Hospital, Barkham Road, Wokingham RG41 2XR although, as this is a community role you will be expected to travel.
Hours: 30 hours per week term time (39 weeks per year) but there is flexibility for all year round, to discuss further at interview.
Main duties of the job Deliver targeted support to children, young people, and their families, where there is an identified health need, such as the coordination of health care plans Undertake training of school staff in the administration of emergency treatment and care ( Severe Allergic Reaction, Asthma and Epilepsy) and provides updates as required.
Assist in the delivery of nurse led clinics, enuresis and referral clinics Provide targeted health interventions to children and young people with identified health needs.
Work independently within educational settings, in the planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion activities.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications/Training Essential Registered Nurse with evidence of appropriate professional development Mentorship qualification, or willingness to undertake Desirable Health Promotion Qualification Continuous Professional Development Essential Evidence of continual professional development Previous Experience Desirable Evidence of practice relevant to school nursing and working in the community.
Experience of inter-agency working an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential Ability to deliver presentations to groups.
Good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Work as part of a team Ability to adopt effective communication skills to various audiences Ability to work without direct supervision Good organisational skills Good oral and written skills Have an understanding of the school nursing service To be a reflective and innovative practitioner Additional Requirements Essential Car driver who holds current driving licence To have use of own car for work purposes The post requires a degree of agility and the ability to carry/manoeuvre light to moderate loads
