About the roleSt Clare's Catholic School, Burdell is seeking two dedicated and experienced school officers - assisting student learning (ASL) to commence 20 January 2025.
These roles are Permanent, Term Time positions.
School Officer (ASL) - 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday)School Officer (ASL) - 22 hours per week (Monday to Thursday) The School Officer – Assisting Student Learning (ASL) works under the direction and supervision of a teacher to provide learning and classroom support to all students including students who have identified additional needs to access and participate in schooling.Typical DutiesThe typical duties of the role may include:a.
Providing support to individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to participate in learning and school activitiesb.
Assisting students (either individually or in groups) with specific learning needs including scribing, reading, which may include providing feedback and observations to the classroom teacher(s)c. Assisting in the support of student engagement by reinforcing appropriate student behaviourd.
Providing practical assistance to students in using classroom technologye.
Performing administrative tasks of record maintenance, producing resources (eg.
Printing, laminating etc) and other classroom administrative supportf.
Assisting in the maintenance of a clean and tidy classroom environment including storage facilities and assisting in setting up appropriate classroom/learning spaceg.
Providing routine support to students in relation to their physical needs (eg.
mobility support) and personal care (eg.
toileting, feeding) Mandatory Criteria Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland GovernmentCurrent Drivers LicenceAbility to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria No formal qualification is required;, however, a Cert III in School Based Education Support or equivalent.
