The chance to deliver compassionate care on a flexible schedule makes this role both rewarding and accommodating.What you can add:The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the provision of health care for children and young people, aged 2-19 years, with severe/profound and multiple learning and physical difficulties.
This will be achieved by providing expert training, advice and support to the school staff, Parents and Carers.The senior nurse will take responsibility for managing and overseeing the school nurse and assistant practitioner within their school teamDevelop and maintain communication with people about complex, highly sensitive matters and/or in a difficult situationHave some knowledge of and instils team approach to be able to use alternative communication means used by the children makaton, PECsResponsible for communicating and receiving sensitive, complex, and sometimes contentious information relating to children and young people, relatives, and carers whilst ensuring confidentiality.
Will use developed persuasive, motivational, negotiating skills, where agreement and cooperation is required in hostile antagonistic or highly emotive atmosphere or were there may be barriers to understanding.Establish effective, appropriate communication processes with parents/guardians and carers.Communicate effectively with a wide range of health, education and social care professionals across professional boundaries.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential All Registered Nurse roles will be required to provide evidence of :- Statement of NMC Registration Degree/Diploma in Nursing Experience Essential A car and valid UK driving license.
A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a School Nurse for Children and Young People environment within the last 2 years.
