Job summary SARC: Paediatric Specialist Social Worker An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen at the Bridge.
We are looking for an experienced social worker to join the team at the Bridge Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) and Paediatric Centre of Excellence located in Bristol.
The Bridge SARC looks after children and young people of all ages who have experienced sexual abuse in the geographical regions of Avon and Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire as well as adults complainants of rape and sexual assault in the area covered by the Avon & Somerset Constabulary.
The role will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing care and support primarily for children and young people and their parents and carers following sexual harm.
Main duties of the job This role will entail - Overview and coordination of referrals into the service for access to non-recent CSA service including : o To act as the key service navigator for this patient group o Direct liaison with local authorities, police forces, CYP and their parents/carer across the commissioned area and o Coordinate and chair weekly intake meetings for the non-recent service - To represent the SARC and its function in the context of multiagency strategy and professionals meetings across the commissioned area; this will involve: o Information sharing o Expert advice and guidance to inform decision making supported by the SARC clinical team - To collaborate with other members of the team on the training of professionals, consultation with professionals, data scrutiny and safeguarding activity across the SARC service to include o Maintenance and analysis of the safeguarding database o Dissemination of child protection medical reports to relevant professionals - To promote the SARC and non-recent service activity amongst social care teams, MASH, Public Health and Education across our commissioned ICBs (Cont'd under detailed job description and main responsibilities) About us University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England.

- Direct CYP care that entails o To develop a therapeutic relationship with children, young people and their parents carers accessing the non-recent (ARC) clinic to support their attendance and care o To contribute to team discussions and decision making and jointly assess and evaluate risk for vulnerable and complex young people/families/carers and document and plan to manage this risk as appropriate and in line with Trust safeguarding policies and protocols o To provide advocacy and crisis work support to CYP and parents/carers during their attendance at the ARC clinic including aftercare coordination.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential Current registration with Social Work England Degree in Social Work Desirable Counselling Qualification Knowledge and Experience Essential Significant Post qualification experience of client work with children adolescents or families where sexual abuse is confirmed or suspected Experience of presenting social work assessments and interventions to a multi-professional team.
Good understanding of Trauma Informed Practice and Principles Desirable Experience of formal or informal teaching/training to social care, health and other professional (D) Experience of working with children with health needs Experience of work within a health setting Up to date knowledge of third sector provision and services Aptitudes Essential Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills from which to build therapeutic relationships with families.
