The aim of this role is to manage the surgical bookings and give secretarial support to Paediatric Cardiac Surgery team.
·TomanagepatientcommunicationsviatelephoneanduseTrustsystemstocreateletters,emailsandtextreminders·Toliaisewithandactasapointofcontactforqueriesfromclinicalandnon-clinicalstaff·Escalate patient queries, capacity issues and breach details to the role's line manager where necessary·Patient Care:·To show acaring andprofessionalapproachtowards patients,relatives and carers.This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed patients and relativesinanempatheticmanner·Tomonitor,manageandvalidateactiveandbacklogwaitinglist data·To coordinate all outpatient clinic bookings for consultant teams, ensuring clinic sessions are booked.·To coordinate all operating theatre bookings for consultant teams, ensuring theatre sessions are booked in accordance with local policies and ensure the efficient use of theatreandbedcapacity To cover secretarial duties: -typing clinic letters and operation notes, - note taking for weekly JCC meetings - liaise with the Bristol Heart Institute regarding any changes to the rota.
