Sales Merchandiser

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB As a Sales Merchandiser, you will work as part of a team responsible for maintaining, developing and expanding the Simpson Strong-Tie builder's merchant business within your territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain, support, and develop customer relations with existing and new Builders' Merchants, Timber Merchants, and Fixings Specialists.
To merchandise, keep tidy and update point of sale and provide literature on the Simpson Strong-Tie product range in branch.
Regulate branch visits and maintain the South East territory call cycle To identify any new potential customer or product business opportunities To be the point of contact for the customers To listen to and understand our requirements from existing and potential customers To interface with internal customers (discuss requirements and resolve issues).
To be involved in exhibitions and trade fairs when required To provide basic product training to customers if required Travel when required, with occasional overnight stays ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES Full clean driving licence Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Strong organisational skills Open, honest and proactive with a "can do" attitude to work Ability to work to deadlines under pressure A team player who can communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel & Word would be beneficial DEPARTMENT Builders Merchant Division REPORTS TO National Sales Manager (Builders Merchants) LOCATION This full-time position is remote, located in the South East of England.
