Salaried GP - SEKG PCN (Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme)We have an exciting opportunity for 2 newly qualified GPs to join Shard End & Kitts Green (SEKG) PCN on a part-time basis. You will be based at Eden Court Medical Practice, seeing patients from across the whole PCN.
The successful candidates will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). Leadership and supervision will be provided by the PCN Clinical Director, and you will have opportunities to attend team meetings and access peer support across the PCN.
There is some flexibility around the number of sessions for these roles, and this can be discussed with individual candidates.
The role is initially offered on a fixed-term contract basis until 31/03/2025; however, this may be extended and will be reviewed ahead of the end date.
Main Duties of the JobThe post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients across the Primary Care Network, dealing with a diverse range of health needs.
This will include, but is not limited to, surgery and telephone consultations, administration, and complying with the practice's contracts (GMS/PMS/enhanced services/DES).

We are currently a GP partnership of 30 practices with 39 surgeries, serving around 280,000 patients in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Shropshire.
The partnership offers a shared administrative and management structure, cutting down the time doctors have to spend on admin. It opens up economies of scale to get the best value from budgets. It has the resources to develop innovative services and effective partnerships with local hospitals and care services. And it can access new funding streams that are only available to large GP organisations.
Our head office is based in Cotteridge, but you will be based at a location within the PCN.
Job ResponsibilitiesMain Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence in a timely fashion.Triage patients presenting to the surgery by telephone, online, and in person.Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health and promoting healthy lifestyle strategies and education.Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.Delivering enhanced services.Check, manage & process patient test results.Refer patients to secondary care and/or relevant organisations and internally within the PCN (e.g., to additional roles members of the PCN team) as required.Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) in line with local and national guidelines.Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake the duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care in a surgery on a PCN basis.Other Responsibilities within the Organisation: Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g., prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.Contributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data.Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate and suitable and relevant for your role.Keep up to date with current evidenced-based approaches to patient care and service delivery, in line with NICE and national frameworks.Contribute to education and training of trainee members of staff and students.Attending and contributing to practice and PCN meetings.Please see the attached job description/person specification for full details.
