Job summary Parttime Salaried GP (4 sessions per week) , Knightwick Surgery, WorcestershireStart date: January 2025 but willing to wait for the right candidateCome and join our small, friendly, patient centred and dynamic practice in rural Worcestershire.
We are a dispensing practice with a registered list size of just over 5000 patients situated on the banks of the beautiful River Teme near Bromyard and pleasantly close to Worcester city centre.
The practice has an excellent and engaged working relationship within the Droitwich, Ombersley and Rurals PCN.
Main duties of the job In accordance with the practice timetable, the postholder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking/signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations on behalf of the Practice, referral letters NHS/private/e-referral, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation Recording clear and contemporaneous IT based patient consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) including EPS Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or nationally agreed guidelines (in the absence of locally agreed ones) In general the postholder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including a share of duty doctor session From time to time there may be extra duties/responsibilities that may be required of the post-holder.

The appointee will also havethe opportunity to take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trendsin treatment, staff training and prescribing) and assist in developingappropriate healthcare services for a diverse, patient list.

A commitment tolife-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice (includingannual appraisals and revalidation);Maintaining a personalprofessional portfolio;Contributing toevaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation;Contributing to thedevelopment of computer-based patient records;Attending training,Practice Meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, whereappropriate.Meet all tighttimescales/deadlines for audits and written returns to ensure that the Practicemeets quality standards and receives the designated funding ( QuarterlyEnhanced Services returns, annual QOF audit etc.
)Representing thepractice at other meetings (such as Local Medical Committee; Locality meetings,Clinical Commissioning, Clinical meetings, GP Federation, etc) as the needarises.A commitment to coverannual leave within the practice for each other (Partners and Salaried GPs).A commitment to coverresponsibilities of Practice when others are on leave and an expectation towork some days single-handedly.Flexibility to coveradditional sessions/swap sessions during times of sickness and annual leave asagreed with the Partners.
The Practice is also signed up to deliver extendedaccess appointments outside of core working hours which may require cover on occasion.Responsibility forcompleting Private Medical Reports / request for patient Information.
