Days of work: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Weaver Vale Practice is a friendly, well-organised teaching practice with 9,000 patients.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, aspiring, caring GP to join us to help shape and develop the practice for the future.
The role is to cover a minimum of 6 sessions, but we are flexible around the number of sessions.
We are based in a large purpose-built health centre, shared with another general practice, adjacent to Halton General Hospital in Runcorn and in easy reach of Liverpool, Manchester, and North Wales.
Main duties of the job6-7 sessions a week (to include pro rata share of extended hours surgery)6 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks study leave per year.Traditional doctor-patient relationship.
Continuity of care is positively encouraged with a fair share of admin.Well-organised multidisciplinary team conducting home visits, medication letters and queries, and admin support to help minimise workload.Well-being practice with a full complement of allied health professionals to support delivery of care to patients.Mentorship from senior GPsFull contraceptive services provided with an opportunity to develop these skills.Opportunity to become involved in teaching and practice development.Protected time each month to undertake some practice development e.g., GSF, child health, safeguarding, if interested.Good links with Runcorn PCN and other local practices.CQC rated good with outstanding leadership.About usWe are a committed supportive practice and positively encourage development of additional skills and personal development.
We strive to maintain a good work-life balance by offering flexibility around the working day, regularly reviewing administrative workload, and capping 25 appointments per day in line with BMA recommendations.

Job responsibilitiesMain purpose of the role: to manage a busy and interesting clinical caseload.
The appointee will also have the opportunity to take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in the Quality and Outcomes Framework, treatment, staff training, and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for a diverse patient list.
Closely supported by the Weaver Vale Practice clinical and management teams, the post holder will act as one of the main GPs within the practice working alongside the practice team but will also be part of a larger clinical team across a Weaver Vale Practice network of practices.
The role will be at the forefront of delivering an innovative model of primary care service provision operating in partnership with other local Weaver Vale Practice practices offering integrated primary care services.
Person SpecificationExperienceRecent experience of working in general practice in the UKCommitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill-mixed team environmentExperience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF)Knowledge of NHSUnderstanding of the needs of the vulnerable groups of patients that are registeredQualificationsA medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT)Currently on the national performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical registerCRB clearanceHave had an annual NHS appraisalEvidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fieldsMRCGPDCHDRCOGRCGP Substance Misuse Certificate Level 1 or 2F2 supervisor training/teaching diploma (this is essential for HDS)DFSRFH & Competence in Coil insertionEvidence of CPD activitiesMinor surgery skillsEvidence of independent working in General PracticeExperience of supporting service changeTeaching of GP Reg/F2/Medical students/Nursing studentsEvidence of participation in QOFEvidence of participation in AuditDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
