Job summary Swadlincote Surgery have an excitingopportunity for a GP to join the practice on a permanent position.The opportunity is for 6 sessions per week with one on-call every 2 weeks.
Start date would ideally be April 2025.Swadlincote Surgery is a long established training practicewith a list size of 14,000 patients.
The GP role benefits from the support of an experienced clinical andadmin practice team.We are looking for a dynamic and motivated GP tojoin us to support us in continuing to provide an excellent healthcareexperience for all of our patients.If you have a specialist area of interest pleasealso include this within your application.
Main duties of the job Provide a fullrange of medical services and additionalenhanced services where appropriate The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery &telephone consultations and queries, home visits, checking &signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork andcorrespondence.
To record clearand contemporaneous computer based consultation notes to agreed standards.Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation Assessing thehealth care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessProvidingcounselling and health education Collecting datafor audit purposesCompiling andissuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptionsPrescribing inaccordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriate In general thepost-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Other Responsibilities within the Organisation Awareness of andcompliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, prescribing,confidentiality, data protection, health and safety A commitment tolife-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice Contributing toevaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation Contributing tothe development of computer-based patient records Contributing tothe summarising of patient records and Read-Coding patient data Attendingtraining and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, whereappropriate.
Person Specification Experience Essential Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services.
Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date.
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
Qualifications Essential Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
