Darwen Healthlink is a forward thinking, proactive training practice situated within the West Pennine Moors. We are seeking to employ a highly motivated Salaried GP for a minimum of 4 sessions per week, who has ambition, innovative ideas and would like to become a part of our dedicated team of Healthcare Professionals.
We are a member practice of the Blackburn with Darwen LPC Federation.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
About usDarwen Healthlink is a high QOF achiever and we use Emis Web Clinical System, Lexacom, Remote Access and Iplato. Our patient list size is currently over 16,000 patients and we are located in a modern multipurpose Health Centre with a variety of Community based healthcare providers within the building such as Treatment Rooms, Dental, Podiatry, MSK, Audiology and have an onsite Community Pharmacy. The Health Centre is located just off Junction 4 of the M65 providing easy access to the Motorway networks.
Our practice team consists of:
4 GP Partners, a management team, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacy Technician, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Mental Health Practitioner, 5 Practice Nurses and 1 Healthcare Assistant; all of which are supported by an effective and professional administrative team who have been provided with a high standard of training which includes workflow optimisation, care navigation, medication support and customer care.
Person SpecificationQualificationsFully trained GP with Vocational Training Certificate.Current and full driving licence.Higher postgraduate membership, for example, MRCGP/nMRCGP, MRCP, DRCOG, DCH.ExperienceCurrently working/training in General Practice or some form of community medicine or urgent care.Evidence of consolidation of professional training, for example, able to demonstrate particular areas of interest or further study.Experience of multi-disciplinary working.Knowledge of appraisal/Audits and SEA.Experience of delivering QOF.Understanding of Practice Based Commissioning.Knowledge of national and local agendas in respect of primary care commissioning, and intermediate and urgent care agendas.Skills & AbilitiesEvidence of computer literacy and keyboard skills.Ability to work flexibly within a team.Ability to challenge traditional models of working and to implement and sustain positive change.Familiarity with EMIS WEB, ICE, referral pathways.Behavioural attributes and competenciesGood team player who is able to support, value and respect other members of the team.Good time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure.Self-motivated and able to recognise own limitations and act upon them appropriately.Willingness to learn new skills and to problem solve on a daily basis.Adaptable and able to respond to a changing situation.Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.Prepared to make a commitment to the long-term development of the practice.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
