Job summary What do you want from your job?Salaried GP sessional rate £12, with BMA Model ContractSound good?Come and meet our friendly, non-hierarchical, multi-disciplinary partnership team.Our Vision : To help our patients become happier and healthier'Our Mission : The St Peter's team supports the delivery of the best possible healthcare in partnership with our patients Main duties of the job We are a large, popular practice (20K patients) who have moved into state of the art modern premises.We employ 10 GPs, our own pharmacist and pharmacy technician, mental health, specialist alcohol and generalist advanced nursing practitioners and first contact physiotherapists.
We also have access to our PCN paramedic home visiting service as well as a whole range of other support workers including a LTC housebound visiting team, extensive social prescribing service, frailty team and health and well being coaches.We recently signed up to the General Practice Improvement Programme and take the Safe Working in General Practice very seriously indeed.
We believe in trying to the patient cared for by the right person, in the right place at the right time and are exploring clinician-led triage to help make this happen.We believe in peer support and meet regularly for co-supervision.
We are re-starting Balint groups and hold regular Schwartz rounds with our PCN colleagues.
We teach undergraduate medical students and will soon train GPs and have nursing students commencing in May this year.

We aim to nurture individual talent.Informal enquiries and visits welcome please speak with Carol Witney or any of the partners on 01273 606006 or 07557982967.Applicants to apply by email with covering letter and CV to Mrs Carol Witney, email address : Job description Job responsibilities Clinical ResponsibilitiesIn accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make them self available to undertake a variety of duties as would be expected for a GP including (but not limited to) surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.- Seeking advice from colleagues and organisations as appropriate.- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.- In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.- Providing counselling and health education.- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.- Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.- Delivering enhanced services.- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions- Prescribing in accordance with the local prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateOther Responsibilities within the Organisation: -- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, , prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.- Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.- Contributing to the summarising of patient records and Read-Coding patient data.- Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
Person Specification Experience Essential Qualified GP to be registered on the Performers List A keen interest in partnership clinical, governance and business matters Not to have been disqualified from practising.
Desirable MRCGP or equivalent We welcome applications from experienced GPs as well as those recently qualified Experience of working in a GP practice Experience of working in primary care Experience of partnership matters Specialist interests, skills and qualifications
