Salaried GP (ARRS - Newly Qualified) Ribblesdale PCNThe East Lancashire Alliance (ELA) is a values-driven, not-for-profit provider of innovative healthcare across East Lancashire.
The post-holder will deal with a range of health needs in a primary care setting within the Ribblesdale PCN Area.
Following the release of ARRS GP funding, we are looking for a newly qualified GP (within 2 years of registration) to join Ribblesdale PCN on a fixed term salaried contract until 31.03.2025 initially for up to 8 sessions, with potential for the role to become permanent.
Please note - To be eligible for this role you must be within 2 years of your CCT being issued at the start date of your employment and have not previously held a substantive post as a GP. You will be expected to undertake all the normal duties & responsibilities of a Primary care GP across our PCN, supporting practices through the winter. The post holder will undertake duties governed by the PMS & GMS contract & Objectives of Direct and Local Enhanced Services.
Services include:
Admin tasks dealing with patient test results, referrals, NHS/private task emails & other paperwork promptly.Cover the clinical management of patients in surgery including referrals to secondary care.Develop treatment plans in consultation with patients & in line with practice disease management protocols & guidance from NICE.Main duties of the jobClinical responsibilities Recording clear & contemporaneous I.T.-based consultation notes to agreed standards.Provide safe evidence-based, cost-effective individualised patient care within the surgery, patients' own home or other environments where patient care is carried out.Clinically examine & assess patient needs from a physiological & psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly.Recognise the need for & be able to perform & interpret investigatory procedures including laboratory & radiology.Prioritise health problems & intervene where necessary in complex urgent or emergency situations.Ensure appropriate follow up of patients.Support patients by promoting healthy lifestyle strategies.Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans.Recognise and work within your own competence & in accordance with professional codes of conduct.Independently prescribe for patients within your scope of practice, prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.Compile and issue electronic acute and repeat prescriptions.Review medications following policy, NICE/local clinical guidelines & local care pathways.Maintain an awareness of updates in clinical practice.Comply with all practice policies/guidelines e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health & safety and QOF standards.Be aware of your duties & responsibilities within current legislation & adhere to policies and processes regarding Safeguarding Children & Adults.About usThe East Lancashire Alliance is a network of 9 PCNs covering 48 GP practices, covering a population of over 390,000 patients across East Lancashire.
