Candidates must meet the following requirements: The General Medical Practitioner has not been substantively employed as a General Medical Practitioner in general practice previously.The General Medical Practitioner has not been employed in a temporary capacity i.e.
as a locum.The General Medical Practitioner is not beyond the second anniversary of their certificate of completion of training, issued by the General Medical Council, at the start of their employment or engagement.The successful candidate will be working across five practices within the PCN.
Fixed term until the end of March, with the view to extending dependent on the DES for 25/26Start as soon as possibleFlexible number of sessions£73,113.00 per annum, pro rata, based on 9 sessionsMain duties of the jobThe Post holder will undertake a variety of duties, which will include patient consultations in the surgery, via the telephone & home visits.Working autonomously & within your scope of knowledge & experience to ensure professional decision making, in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care professionals.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.Developing care plans for health in consultations with patients and in line with current PCN and practice disease management protocols.Referring patients to other care providers as appropriate.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Prescribing in accordance with the PCN and practice prescribing formulary or generically whenever this is clinically appropriate.This list is by no means exhaustive & in general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Job responsibilitiesKey duties and responsibilities In accordance with the practice timetable, you will make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.Developing care plans for health in consultations with patients and in line with current PCN and practice disease management protocols.Providing counselling and health education.Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Collecting data for audit purposes as requested for support.Prescribing in accordance with the PCN and practice prescribing formulary or generically whenever this is clinically appropriate.In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Person SpecificationQualificationsGMC RegistrationCCTExperienceMBBS or equivalent medical degreeQualified GP MRCGP - general practitioner certificate of completion of training CCT - within first 2 years of qualificationFull GMC registrationNot previously been substantively employed at a GP PracticeNational Performers List registration (England)Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)Eligibility to practice in the UK independentlyKnowledge of practice clinical system EMIS.
