Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled qualified nurse to join the BSW ICB Safeguarding team as Specialist Safeguarding Nurse.
We want to recruit to 3 permanent posts ( FTE).
At BSW ICB we adopt a "Think Family" approach to Safeguarding and are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner to support this model of delivery for our children, families, and vulnerable adults.
This all-age approach acknowledges the impact of abuse, neglect & exploitation across lifespan of the population that we serve.
You will be part of the Wiltshire & Swindon Safeguarding team and work closely with colleagues across BaNES, providing cover and support where needed across the localities.
Main duties of the job You will provide professional advice and guidance toprimary careon issues relating to safeguarding and support the development of local leadership to promote the strategic priorities of current and new models of safeguarding partnership working, embedding good practice and reflective learning in Primary Care.
You will be passionate about the promotion of multi-agency/multi-disciplinary working within key safeguarding principles and statutory requirements.
You will help develop and deliver safeguarding training for Primary Care and internal ICB staff.
You will assist the Safeguarding Leads in NHS funded services and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs in local safeguarding enquiries, as well as statutory Review processes as required.
There will be a quality assurance function which will include review of reporting, as well as implementing and monitoring the recommendations from these reviews.
You will also work with the quality team to provide specialist safeguarding advice on Patient Safety Incidents (PSI) and other processes deemed appropriate,working in partnership and collaboratively with strategic and local partners.
You will be a key part of the BSW Safeguarding team who are working to ensure that Safeguarding is Everybody's business.

Person Specification Knowledge, Training and Experience Essential Registered Nurse - Part 1 of the register or equivalent active professional qualification Evidence of ongoing professional development and training undertaken in respect of safeguarding to minimum Level 3 Working knowledge of national and local safeguarding CLA policies, guidelines and recommendations.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Safeguarding for example MCA 2005, DoLS 2009, Children's Act 2004 and Care Act 2014.
Including CLA Demonstrates knowledge relevant to patterns of abuse and neglect Experience of delivering training.
Experience of multi-agency child and/or adult protection work.
Advanced IT skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Communication Skills & Analytical Essential Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences.
Skills for communication on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence.
Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks.
Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
Confidence to challenge appropriately in difficult situations Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise, work flexibly and to tight deadlines.
Completion of audits and reports within timescale Planning, Management, Autonomy Essential Skills for management and/or introduction of new models for care Ability to engender trust and confidence and demonstrate integrity in the provision of advice and support Skills for manipulating information.
Intermediate keyboard skills Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload without supervision working to tight and often changing timescales
