Job summary Join our OUTSTANDING SACT unit- Amberley Unit.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Nurse to join our Team at University Hospital Sussex NHS Foundations Trust in Worthing Hospital who provide outstanding care for patients with cancer.
We are a friendly cohesive team and require a focused, committed, enthusiastic individual.
You must be a motivated individual with aflexible approach to work and will be a vital part of the SACT team in helping to deliver high level services to patients with cancer.

Main duties of the job An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly team.
The Amberley Unit provides outpatient services for haematology and oncology patients including systemic anti-cancer treatments and supportive therapies.The successful applicant needs to have had experience in haematology/oncology and have a recognised SACT administration training qualification.
If you are not trained in SACT, but are willing to undergo training, you may still apply.The unit has a dedicated clinical practice educator providing opportunity for staff to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to progress in this rapidly expanding and diverse specialty.

Job description Job responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of safe and effective nursing care and treatment for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, medical and supportive treatments or undergoing medical investigations on the Amberley Unit.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential RGN 1st Level Significant experience post registration in acute clinical setting Desirable SACT administration qualification Registration Essential Current NMC Registration Knowledge, Training & Experience Essential Current competency in administration of intravenous medication Cannulation competency and venepuncture Experience in haemato-oncology nursing Desirable Training in immediate life support (ILS) Current competency in the administration of blood products Skills Essential Ability to empathise, support and provide reassurance in difficult situations Able to demonstrate ability to liaise with MDT and escalate appropriately Desirable Experience in delivery pre SACT patient information sessions Experience in handling telephone triage Demonstrates skill in handling bad news situations Information Resources Essential Familiarity with electronic prescribing systems Desirable Experience with Chemocare prescribing system Personal qualities and attributes Essential Team worker Ability to acknowledge limitations and challenge practice when required Good communication skills Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Essential Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
