Applications are invited for the post of Information Access Officer within Data Protection Information Access Team based at Hutton Headquarters.

The purpose of this role is responding to requests made to Lancashire Constabulary under Data Protection legislation and the Freedom Of Information Act.
Subject Access Requests are made under Data Protection legislation, and this role involves locating personal information about the applicant and determining what can be provided to them lawfully.
This involves researching police systems and carrying out redactions both in electronic records and video recordings.
Freedom of Information involves carrying out research in all areas of the Constabulary to provide information where we are able.
These requests can cover every aspect of how our police force works so it is a great way to learn more about policing and about our organisation.
FOI has various exemptions that mean some information cannot be shared and you will learn where to apply these.
Overall, every day is different, and no two FOI requests are the same.
