This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the Kitchen team in our state-of-the-art hospital in Ballykelly.
The catering department plays an instrumental role in helping patients make a speedy recovery with their healthy local cuisine.
Location: Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West, Ballykelly Salary: £22,750 Based on 37.5 hpw Department: Catering Contract: Permanent, Part Time Hours: Contracted hours will equate to 26.25 hours however this will be on a shift basis.
Week 1: 22.5 hours Week 2: 30 hours) Post holder will be required to work 7 days out of 14 including every other weekend.
Responsible to: Catering Manager Accountable to: General Manager Job Summary The post-holder will be required to discuss menu options and serve food to patients in private rooms, and to serve food in the staff canteen.
The successful candidate will be required to work on a shift basis (7 days out of 14 including every other weekend).
A flexible and positive attitude towards work is expected together with the ability to act on your own initiative.
The ideal candidate should have 1 years' experience working within a restaurant as a waiter, however, applicants with other customer service experience such as: reception, sandwich bar, or cafes will also be considered.
Candidates must possess excellent people skills in order to communicate politely and professionally with both patients and staff.
They must pay attention to detail in order to deliver precisely what the patient or staff member has ordered.
Candidates will be required to take food and drink orders and discuss menu options with staff and patients.
A good knowledge of food allergies and food hygiene would be desirable, however, full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will assist with cleaning all areas of kitchen and canteen in accordance with the hospitals catering hygiene and food handling policy.
This involves cleaning all crockery, cutlery and equipment, ensuring a clean and professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities: To discuss menu options with patients and take food orders and deliver meals to rooms.
Assist in the preparation of food.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness to a very high standard.
Work alongside other catering team members to ensure food is prepared for necessary times.
Set up canteen and serve lunch to all hospital staff.
