The Unsecured Credit Risk team is responsible for managing the asset quality of the Society's unsecured portfolios, which includes designing effective new lending strategies, managing the credit quality of the portfolio, and providing specialist credit risk advice to the business.
The team use their analytical skills and experience to provide insight that helps inform our business directors of what decisions they need to make.

What you'll be doing Your job will include managing, coaching and developing SAS analysts who analyse credit risk information, providing stakeholders with valuable insight into the changing credit risks within the Unsecured portfolios.
You'll be involved in: Managing and coaching SAS analysts, driving and delivering data-driven insights into the Unsecured portfolios and championing their development Utilising insights and analytics from your team to enhance the Unsecured portfolios lending strategies Driving forward benefits and developments to our regulatory compliance, including close relationships with transformation teams and future strategic infrastructure improvement Managing stakeholder relationships and representing Unsecured Credit Risk at internal and external meetings Providing expert advice to business partners and designing pragmatic solutions that support financial plan whilst ensuring our lending stays within risk appetite Assessing new tools and data sources as they become available, with a view to using them to support the digitalisation agenda.

As a minimum requirement you'll need to have or be: Proficiency in Credit Risk Portfolio Management In-depth knowledge of Retail Credit Risk, especially in Unsecured lending Experience with advanced analytical tools (e.g.
SAS) and software (e.g.
PowerBi) Ability to oversee and optimise the credit risk portfolio according to the Nationwide's risk appetite and strategic goals Responsible for designing and updating comprehensive credit risk policies that are compliant with regulatory requirements Experience of managing/coaching and developing a team Collaborating with senior management to integrate risk management frameworks into the Society's strategy Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with internal and external stakeholders Our Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
