Job DescriptionThis is a fixed term post until 01/03/.Risk and Health & Safety Graduate to assist in the development of a positive risk and health & safety culture.We are looking for a Risk and Health & Safety Graduate to assist our Corporate Health and Safety Team in the development of a positive and proactive risk and health &; safety culture within a local authority setting.Are you a team player, are you a good communicator, can you assist in developing a strategic and practical approach to the management of risk and health & safety across a full range of local authority services?
If so, then this is the role for you.The Corporate Health and Safety Team oversee an integrated approach in developing and supporting a positive risk and health & safety culture at both Corporate and Service level within West Dunbartonshire Council.This integrated approach involves providing guidance and advice on a wide range of Risk and Health & Safety issues (including fire safety) to the senior management team, service managers and employees across all Council Services.The role will allow the successful candidate to develop a sound working and practical knowledge of risk and health & safety issues across a wide range of services including, among others, education, construction, social care and waste services.The Corporate Health and Safety Team have a wide range of both technical and practicalexperience and are well placed to deliver quality training, advice and support to someone looking to develop a career in Risk and Health & Safety management.The IndividualWDC was voted one of the top ten flexible employers and prides itself in providing flexible working to support work life balance.
