Role Overview As a Risk and Governance Inspector, you will lead and manage the external regulatory process for BCS across key care regulators such as CQC, CI, CCGs, LAs, Healthwatch, and Food Safety.
You will also validate internal governance processes, providing relevant and timely management information and analysis related to quality, risk, and regulation, with actionable recommendations for operational managers.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert in external regulatory frameworks (CQC/CI/CSSIW), supporting and advising on regulatory submissions, challenges, and queries.
Inspection and Reporting: Inspect allocated homes and domiciliary care services, generating detailed reports within 5 working days, identifying areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide effective communication and guidance to all stakeholders, supporting their roles in risk and governance management.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to update and simplify compliance policies and procedures.
Quality and Risk Management: Work with the Senior Operational Team and Senior Risk and Governance team to support and assess services with quality issues, providing timely reports with clear actions.
Regulatory Trends Analysis: Review inspection report trends and make recommendations for improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance compliance.
Incident Investigation: Conduct root cause analysis investigations into critical incidents and regulatory concerns.
What You'll Bring Experience: Inspection experience is desirable.
Operational Focus: Understanding of customer needs in the care home sector.
Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of the UK care regulatory environment and key external stakeholders.
