We are recruiting for a RIS Assurance Manager to join the Corporate Assurance Division within the Business Services Directorate (BSD).
The role would ideally be based in Guildford as the team are currently based and work from there, however other locations can be considered.
We have a hybrid working approach and will require 2 days a week in the office, more if required to deliver the job, including meeting key stakeholders over the year in other office locations.
As part of your role, you will provide and support assurance on commitments, such as those relating to the economic regulation of the Company and to fully participate in the work of the Business Services Directorate to deliver its objectives.
You will support the assurance of current Company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Performance Indicators (PIs), Investment Plans (IPs) and Road Investment Strategy commitments, identify findings and work with business colleagues to drive improvement and implement assurance best practice.

The role is varied.
It will give you a deep understanding of business performance assurance and the framework within which we operate - through the governance and assuring of National Highways' commitments.
You will be working with a wide range of colleagues and their teams across all locations within National Highways.
With our drive for continuous improvement this is a maturing work area and specific responsibilities will develop and change over time; therefore, the job holder will need to maintain a flexible and adaptable attitude and approach.
Support and own the assurance of some National Highways commitments, KPIs or PIs with escalation where required.
Provide reporting on current and expected future progress, key risks and findings.
Support the National Highways Delivery Plan by assuring the commitments against owned assurance sections.
Engage with colleagues across the business to gather information, synthesise the evidence to assure commitments and escalate issues as appropriate to ensure resolution or mitigation action.
Responsible for providing assurance on data quality and process issues within your named remit by supporting the Company's overarching drive to improve the quality and consistency of its data by examining current processes and providing assurance insights to improve data collection techniques.
Responsible for planning and defining project steps, scope project risks and issues, establishing plans, reviewing milestones and priorities for named areas of accountability, including the supporting of year-end assurance for the regulatory required Performance Monitoring Statements.
About you.
Experience of working in assurance and/or data analysis role to understand and assure company performance against commitments and metrics with consideration to the regulatory framework.
Experience of identifying and analysing problems to provide intelligence-based recommendations.
Experience in prioritising workloads in order to meet tight deadlines.
Able to monitor milestones or targets for both your own and the team's work, keeping work and track and maintaining performance.
Experience in producing high level written communication, able to convey complex information in a concise and understandable way.
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to work successfully with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to maximise delivery.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
