As a Rights Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in our Royalties department, ensuring that the financial elements of rights contracts are accurately interpreted into our royalty system and that licensees' financial statements and payments are allocated correctly.
You will manage a team of Rights Administrators and Co-Ordinators, setting goals and targets to maximise operational performance.
Your leadership will foster an environment of trust, open communication, and continuous improvement, ensuring our team remains adaptable and cohesive.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure that rights contracts are set up accurately and within agreed timescales Oversee the Biblio rights invoicing process and provide cover when necessary Create an environment oriented towards trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort Motivate and inspire team members by leading by example Ensure that the Rights inboxes are monitored by the Rights Co-Ordinators Provide cover for the other Rights Team Leader as required Liaise with the Rights team for contract and payment queries Support Rights Administrators with answering queries from external stakeholders such as authors and agents Produce reports to assist the Finance Manager (Rights) with KPIs Contribute to future process and systems developments Work closely with the accounts team to ensure Licensee details are held correctly in the system What You'll Bring: Ability to lead and manage a successful team.
A positive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude Strong attention to detail Team leader/management experience (including managing regular one to ones, yearly reviews, absence management meetings, conducting training etc) Highly organised and able to prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines Good communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with other parts of the business Strong numerical skills Strong capabilities in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word Essential criteria: Experience in a high-volume transaction business area where accuracy is essential At Penguin Random House, you will be part of a team that values excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

Salary £28,000 - £30,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

For this role we expect that you will attend our office in Frating, Essex, one day per week.
