We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Rheumatology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.
Our client is a major provider of integrated hospital and community services, providing care to over half a million patients every year. They provide health care in various locations including people's homes, their five community hospitals, at their two acute hospitals, and from over 20 other settings such as health and leisure centres and GP practices. Their aim is to provide comprehensive and value for money care aimed at giving patients the right treatment, in the right place, at the right time.
The Rheumatology clinics include general Rheumatology clinics, Early Arthritis Clinics (with access to MSK ultrasound), Rheumatology Hot Clinics and telephone clinics. The traditional clinic template includes 2 x 30 min new appointments, 1 x 30 min flare appointment and 6 x 15 min follow ups. The post holder will also participate in clinical pathway development or development of specialist services such as vasculitis or connective tissue disease. The post holder will be expected to provide support for the specialist nurses and junior trainees. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research and to teach medical undergraduate students from Oxford University and the University of Buckingham.
