Revenues and Benefits Officer Scale 4 (£25,584 - £27,269) 37 hours, Full-time Permanent Hybrid: Stopford House and home working Application Deadline: Sunday 26th January 2025, 11:59pm Shortlisting Date: Tuesday 28th Wednesday 29th January 2025 Interview Date: 7th February / 10th February 2025 Interview Type: In person Your Role This work will involve liaising with internal and external account holders and organisations to ensure that accounts are kept up to date, whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Your work will impact on the collection rates.
You will support customers as necessary whilst upholding the Stockport Council values: Keeping the people of Stockport at the heart of what we do.

Valuing and respecting our colleagues, partners and customers.
About You You will be required to maintain Council Tax accounts, dealing with the public over the phone and by e-mail or letter.
It will also involve liaising with internal and external account holders and organisations to ensure that accounts are kept up to date, whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service.
If you don't have any knowledge of these areas, we will help you to develop the skills and experience you already have with our internally delivered full training package.
We also welcome applications from people who have worked in similar data processing roles, for example within the Civil Service, tax, insurance, banking or debt agency industry.
You will have the following attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability and confidence to deal with a wide range of customers over the phone and work well with other team members and services Effective organisational skills Excellent written English Ability to work accurately to deadline Ability to work flexibly to support the team's core work and other objectives Experience of using office I.T applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
About Us Stockport Council's Revenues and Benefits department is responsible for the collection of revenues including Council Tax and business rates, which make up over 80% of the Councils funding.
This funding is then used to provide key services to Stockport residents and businesses.
This includes funding schools and education, providing support to the boroughs most vulnerable children and adults, as well as repairing potholes and emptying bins.
