Revenue Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bath  to assist with the appointment of a  Revenue Officer , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

Rate of Pay : £20.20 - £25.29 per hour Responsibilities: Collect information and data from various sources, and input this into various systems and calculations to ensure that data considered is accurate and available.
Undertake calculations and straightforward assessments, in accordance with legislation, defined procedures, protocols and rules, to determine liability for charges and eligibility for specific discounts, reliefs, exemptions or straightforward benefits and payments.
Check and verify documentation provided by customers in accordance with strictly defined requirements, to ensure that documents provided are applicable and correct.
Issue correspondence, letters and bills using standard templates, so that customers receive clear and appropriate written correspondence and confirmation.
Escalate and refer complex or specialist cases to colleagues, so that cases can be dealt with appropriately.
Qualifications: NVQ Level 2, or equivalent.
Experience of customer-facing service delivery.
Experience of processing data and undertaking complex calculations.
Knowledge of processes, procedures and protocols relating to the calculation and processing of benefits/council tax/business rates.
Some knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to benefits/business rates/council tax/financial assessments and data protection.
Knowledge of a range of systems related to processing data.
