The school is a mainstream environment, however they have opened up a resource base, to support a small number of students with SEN . There will be a class teacher planning, delivering and marking lessons, however you will offer support with activity prep, you will have the opportunity to implement your creative side when devising activities.
You will also be responsible for leading small group interventions and 1:1 , which means it is paramount you are confident and assertive as well as being patient to manage the environment. The key needs of the students include learning, social, emotional and mental health needs , in addition to challenging behaviour.
It is essential you have previously supported these needs, to ensure you can assess how to support them. This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday term time only, between the hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm.
Commencing as soon as possible, you will be employed by the school, where you are contracted to work 38 weeks per year. Working with Long Term Teachers: We are an independent agency working with Nurseries, Primary, Secondary and Special Schools.
