Priority Candidates will be considered in the first instance Various Locations across the Wigan and Leigh Borough Salary: Grade 5, Salary £25,992 - £28,624 pro rata based on 37 hours per week, £13.47 - £14.84 per hour, + sleep in rate and additional Sunday pay Everything that we do for our children in care, needs to be as good as or even better than what we would expect for our own children.

Across the Wigan borough we have 5 residential homes that need amazing people, who are kind, positive, accountable and courageous, to help us to provide love, care and safety for our children.
If successful, we will match you to a role as near to your neighbourhood as possible, making it easier to get to and from work.
We have homes in Hindley, Standish, Worsley Hall and Leigh, or if being in one place isn't you then our mobile team may be of interest.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, fun and caring, who understands the needs of children and young people who may have complex needs, a disability or learning difficulties.
As you can imagine, children need caring for 365 days a year, so we operate a rota which includes a mixture of mornings, afternoons, weekends and sleep in duties.
So, what does a day in the job look like?
You will play a crucial role in providing day-to-day care and support to our children, helping them to develop essential life skills, manage their emotions, and build positive relationships.
You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, loved, respected, and supported.
You will have a solution-focused, positive attitude and be willing to complete all training offered to equip you in providing the best care for our children.
If you don't hold a relevant qualification, following the probation period, we will enrol you to complete the Diploma level three working with children and young people award which you will complete within 18 months.
