There are many benefits to the role as well as working in a beautiful setting the salary is up to £14,300 based on 27 hour weeks 27 weekends per year.This role is based on working just 27 weekends per year and you get paid all year round!
You wont be working during holidays and the best bit is you will be having fun and teaching life skills to students, you will be going out walking and going on great activity days and will be baking and doing in house activities and games.You will work with a collaborative Care team to provide a high standard of care to children and young people with a vision impairment.
You will foster a positive environment for the delivery of the waking day curriculum and to ensure high quality documentation within Care.
You will supervise and support staff to work with students in a proficient and sensitive manner that will enhance both their academic and social development.You will deliver activities both on and off the campus and to provide and encourage access to a range of leisure pursuits and to new opportunities and assist in providing opportunities for students to develop socially into a mature and confident young person.
You will liaise with Care and Education staff, other College staff, parents and external partners and agencies in a professional manner in order to achieve a comprehensive approach to the students' development.
You will help build the link between home and College and maintain contact with parents through face-to-face meetings, email and telephone.You will support the students in coming to terms with the effect of vision and other impairments and manage Care staff to be able to effectively achieve this outcome.
You will ensure trusting relationships are developed between staff and students, whilst respecting professional boundaries.
