We have an exciting opportunity for a research nurse to join our existing clinical research delivery team.

About the RoleOur diverse portfolio includes: Observational studiesClinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs)Medical device trials Research areas include a range of respiratory conditions like lung cancer, pleural diseases, long COVID, sarcoidosis, COPD, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, and respiratory sleep and breathing disorders.As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of allocated respiratory trials and main responsibilities will include: Coordinating and providing care for trial participantsCollecting and processing biological samplesGathering and managing trial data You will take part in all aspects of respiratory care and trial assessments, including spirometry, phlebotomy, ECGs, observations and history taking.
About YouYou will be responsible for the planning and day-to-day management of assigned respiratory studies.
Essential qualities and skills include: NMC Registered Adult NurseHave excellent record keeping skills and maintain files and notes accurately.
Educate patients about medication use and diary completionCollaborate with the multidisciplinary team and trial monitors to ensure recruitment and follow-up according to trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice.Work closely with other research nurses and practitioners in the delivery team to ensure optimal care and support for trial participants in our research portfolio.Participate in team meetings and attend relevant training sessions and investigator meetings, which may require travel.
Desirable skills include venepuncture, spirometry and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
About the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine The Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine (NDM) is one of the largest departments of the University of Oxford and is part of the Medical Sciences Division, with responsibility for a significant part of the teaching of clinical students within the Medical School.
Benefits of working Application Process The post is full time (part-time 0.6 FTE will be considered) and in the first instance fixed term until 31 March 2026.
