Research Grants Officer

We are looking for an experienced individual with an excellent understanding of the current research funding environment, who will be responsible for the delivery of funding applications to external bodies.
You must be customer focused, numerate and have excellent communication and organisational skills and a commitment to service excellence.
On joining the rapidly expanding Research Services Team, you will be instrumental in working with over 400 scientists, supporting Kew Science research and will be proactive in seeking ways to increase successful grant applications and to further develop clear and transparent research support processes within the organisation.
As part of an expanding team, you will support the operational duties of research services team.
Your primary function will be to provide end to end oversight for all grant proposals and awards, coordinating Kew's work with international and domestic, statutory and public scientific funding bodies to maximise financial resources coming to the Kew Science Directorate.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in grant application and management and an excellent knowledge of the current research funding environment.
With a proven background in a similar role, the successful candidate will be a team player who can manage conflicting priorities and work on their own initiative.
You will provide professional and specialist advice to academic colleagues on all aspects of funding development activity.
