The role… Reporting to the Head of Strategic Intelligence, the Technology Research Director, Strategic Intelligence will set the agenda for tech themes like artificial intelligence, cloud, quantum computing, connectivity, data centers, data analytics, internet of things, automation, robotics, and semiconductors.
Key responsibilities: Write and update thematic reports in tech themes including artificial intelligence, cloud, quantum computing, connectivity, data centers, data analytics, internet of things, automation, robotics, and semiconductors. Take a leadership role in developing the team strategy. Manage a team of junior analysts. Lead client calls with companies from various industries. Conduct press interviews promoting GlobalData strategic intelligence. Present at a range of internal and external events. Pitch and deliver custom research projects. Build market forecast models from scratch. Collaborate with senior analysts and sales people from across GlobalData. Role requirements: 10+ years' experience as a technology analyst within the business intelligence, market research, equity research or consulting sectors. Extensive understanding of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud, quantum computing, connectivity, data centers, data analytics, internet of things, automation, robotics, and semiconductors. Excellent report writing skills, in particular the ability to explain complex technologies to a lay person. Enthusiastic about serving clients across a range of industries from tech to consumer, banking, industrials, and healthcare. Excellent presentation skills. Exceptional team working skills. Strong attention to detail. Flexibility to work on new projects at short notice. Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. Strong market forecast modelling skills. Experience of managing a team. Highly motivated self-starter. Inquisitiveness and curiosity, with a desire to extend knowledge of emerging tech themes. Ability to think laterally – not just to analyse the current technology landscape, but to predict the future. Advanced MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and analytical skills.
