Research Associate In Ionic-Gated 2D Crystals

Applications are invited for a research position within the condensed matter physics group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of researchers who have been at the forefront of graphene research since its discovery in 2004 and will work on a series of projects relating to graphene and other 2D materials funded by the EPSRC, European Commission and a range of other international funders.The post is available from 15 April for a period of 24 months.
The project will focus on the investigation of the catalytic and ion transport properties of new 2D materials.
The successful candidate should have already submitted her/his PhD dissertation in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related discipline (or have equivalent experience).
Specialist experience in electrochemistry, device micro-fabrication in clean room environment or precision electrical measurements would be considerable advantage.
The candidate should also be well-organised and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills.
A strong publication record in internationally peer-reviewed journals would be a considerable advantage.
