On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Reporting Accountant , an initial 6-month contract based in Edinburgh/London.
It is a hybrid role.

Purpose of the role: This role supports the end-to-end delivery of insurance financial reporting.
This role will be responsible for supporting the accounting of M&G plc complex insurance business.
As a Reporting Accountant, you will be: Working with the reporting team to deliver results in line with the working day timetable.
Provide the reporting team with SME leadership, direction, and confidence that the results deliveries are timely and accurate.
Accountable for delivering accounting for M&G's insurance business.
This will include production and analysis of results on UKGAAP, IFRS & SII bases.
Support the production reporting team as required by learning from existing members and picking up key deliverables where required.
Communicate progress against timeline to stakeholders (e.g.
direct manager, reporting delivery manager, senior managers, group and insurance financial controllers).
Independently identify, assess, monitor and take ownership of issues, risks, and dependencies.
Make recommendations to mitigate the risk or resolve issues and escalate where appropriate to ensure progress towards reporting delivery.
Assist in task documentation and hand over of work as required.
Support with management of resource planning and motivate the reporting team to ensure a high standard of output, focused on customer satisfaction and delivery by providing ongoing guidance, mentoring, or coaching.
What we require from the candidate: An experienced qualified accountant (e.g.
CA, ACA, ACCA) or part qualified accountant Demonstratable experience of financial reporting activities within insurance.
Experience of working in a life insurers finance function.
Knowledge of UKGAAP, IFRS17 and Solvency II reporting metrics.
Knowledge of Oracle Fusion General Ledger and Tagetik consolidation system desirable.
Ability to motivate, influence and constructively challenge where appropriate.
Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, resources, priorities, and deliverables to tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and the ability to articulate complex ideas/concepts to stakeholders.
Highly analytical and skilled problem solver that has the ability to anticipate, prioritise resolve issues and determine solutions.
In depth understanding of either accounting Financial Reporting processes.
Experience of collaborating with offshore teams/third parties.
