We are therefore open to candidates based in and around Glasgow.Job DescriptionWhat will the role involve?You will find and tell stories for the Scottish Express that engage as many readers as possible, breaking exclusive news stories and providing sharp and insightful commentary that captivates the Scottish Express audience.
You will build communities both online and in real life to share your content and engage with readers about those stories.
You will cover a variety of topics and will relish the opportunity to turn your hand to different content areas.You will tell stories in many different ways, including (but not limited to) real-time live blogs, article format, video, audio, and pictures.
This role will involve working a variety of shifts on a rota basis including occasional weekends (currently one in every four) and occasional evenings, so a flexible approach is required.QualificationsWho are we looking for?You are an experienced, qualified journalist with excellent media law knowledge.
You have demonstrable news reporting experience with a proven track record of delivering compelling stories in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
You have excellent digital publishing and SEO skills and have experience utilising a CMS.
You have strong social media abilities that help you build communities across platforms.
With excellent local and industry contacts, you're adept at uncovering important stories.
