We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team as Administrator within the Renal Department at Kent & Canterbury Hospital.
We require a high standard of organisational skills in order to provide an efficient medical secretary and administrative service to the Renal Consultants and the Team.
This role will keep you both busy and must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, an ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure.
You will be adaptable, reliable and a proven team member with good qualifications and/or experience.
Knowledge of working in a hospital environment and medical terminology is desirable.
You will be working with a wide range of people and communicating with both patients and staff, therefore empathy and patience is essential for this role You will be joining a well-established and passionate team who support each other in the day to take management of duties and tasks.

Main duties of the job To undertake clerical and administrative dutiesCollecting, sorting and the opening of postPrint and process patient referrals received via the Electronic Referral System and register on database for the Consultant to triage.Monitor Advice & Guidance requests received from GP surgeries via Electronic Referral System and process in a timely manner.Audio type all clinical letters and other correspondence as required by the consultant and team, ensuring layout, spelling, grammar and punctuation is consistent.Assess all enquiries and deal with effectively and respond appropriatelyThe maintenance of department stationery, office supplies requirement and stationery storeroomMake appointments as appropriate, in line with government and local targets and trust policy, procedure and guidance.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE in Maths and English or Equivalent Skills and Experience Essential Working knowledge of Microsoft Professional Office package Ability to communicate with, co-ordinate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team Excellent organisational skill Previous experience working within a busy administrative environment.
Good interpersonal skills interact with colleagues and clients courteously Ability to use own initiative Desirable Able to take and transcribe formal meeting minutes Knowledge of medical terminology Experience of a range of administration procedures and practices with a base level of theoretical knowledge Other Requirements Essential Upholds and models the trust values Knowledge Essential o Knowledge of a range of administrative work procedures and practice including a knowledge of software programmes
