We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join our forward-thinking team, starting as soon as possible.
The Role We are looking for a passionate and skilled Religious Education Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, fostering a love for RE, and encouraging students to think critically about the world around them.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (NQTs) who are keen to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities: Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, following the national curriculum and ensuring lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of all students.
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, creative, and high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students.
Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to track student progress and provide regular feedback.
Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
Actively engage with students' pastoral care and well-being, building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Participate in school-wide activities, including extracurricular initiatives, parent evenings, and staff training sessions.
Contribute to the wider development of the RE department, working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum.
Essential Criteria: A relevant degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Religious Education curriculum.
Passionate about teaching RE and inspiring students to explore different worldviews.
Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
High standards of professional conduct and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Criteria: Experience teaching Religious Education at both KS3 and KS4.
A commitment to extracurricular activities and school community involvement.
Familiarity with GCSE Religious Studies specifications (e.g., AQA or Edexcel).
