Lancashire County Council provides full in-house catering services to 16 homes and 11 day centres for Older People's Care Services across Lancashire, serving over 800 meals per day.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Mobile Cook (Relief Cook) to join our team and help us maintain these standards across our Residential Care Homes, covering a 3 week rota, working 1 weekend in 3 – with pay enhancements for weekend working.
As a Relief Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals.
You will be responsible for covering rota gaps in the kitchens of our Residential Care Homes across Lancashire.
This role requires flexibility and the ability to travel across the county, therefore access to a vehicle is essential.What we are looking forAs the ideal candidate for this role, you will possess a recognised catering qualification (desirable) and have substantial experience in menu planning, stock control, and catering for large numbers.
A strong understanding of food costing, specialised diets, and basic hygiene practices, as well as appreciating the nutritional needs of our residents and the correct use of kitchen equipment will be essential.
