Release Coordinator

Your Application Service Delivery role works within the Service Management team alongside project, development, platform, and operations teams to create a cohesive, optimal, and transparent release schedule for software applications and systems.
This is focused heavily on working with Application teams, as opposed to Infrastructure.

Location: Cambridgeshire (2 days a week)
Rate: £500 - £550 per day (inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months minimum.

Key Responsibilities Release Planning & Coordination : Develop and manage the release schedule.
Coordinate with various stakeholders (development, testing, operations) to align on release requirements and timelines.
Communicate plans and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Release Execution & Deployment : Oversee deployments to production, manage risks, resolve issues, and ensure smooth releases across IT streams.
Risk Management : Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with releases.
Ensure rollback plans are prepared for emergencies.
Continuous Improvement : Work with development, QA, and operations teams to enhance release processes and address issues based on post-release analyses.
Compliance & Governance : Ensure release practices meet internal standards, industry regulations, and governance frameworks.
Conduct reviews post-release for accountability and improvements.
Key Skills & Competencies Technical Expertise : Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Git, and ServiceNow.
Project Management : Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
Communication & Leadership : Ability to coordinate cross-team efforts, communicate effectively, and lead teams through release cycles.
Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot efficiently and handle pressure in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications & Experience Must have a background working with Development teams, understanding of SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
Applications focused, not infrastructure.
5+ years in Service Delivery, ideally with ServiceNow experience.
Experience in managing releases in Agile or DevOps environments.
Broad ITSM experience, ability to manage communications with internal and external stakeholders globally.
Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or Scrum Master are a plus.
A strategic mindset, resilience under pressure, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
