As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for managing complex cases, implementing the Mental Health Act, formulating care plans and treatments, and guiding on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
Main duties of the jobAs a Consultant, you'll be expected to provide leadership to the team, always striving for better.
Your key responsibilities will include liaison and collaborative working with care co-ordinators, commissioners, families and carers, and other services/agencies, implementation of the Mental Health Act, and multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working.
You will also have a key role in the clinical governance of the hospital and oversight of the service user care pathway.
Job responsibilitiesAs a Consultant Psychiatrist, some of your key responsibilities will include:

The post holder will be required to be part of a second-tier hospital on-call as the duty Responsible Clinician.
The post holder will be expected to provide cover for other medical colleagues during leave and other absences and this is reciprocated.

You will be working at The Copse, providing inpatient rehabilitation for men with mental health conditions who require active rehabilitation in order to progress into future community placements.
Working as part of a team, you will support service users to maintain links with family and friends, gain opportunities and prepare for community living.
Service Users typically come from other hospital placements, or directly from the community.
