Regulatory Data and Strategy Specialist Division - Banking, Insurance, and Early & High Growth Oversight Department
Department - Authorisations
Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £67,100 to £81,000 and London £73,700 to £90,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

We are seeking a Technical Specialist to join our Authorisations Division within the Banking, Insurance, and Early & High Growth Oversight Department.
Our Banking and Insurance teams authorise new deposit-takers, insurers and insurance intermediaries and our Early & High Growth Oversight teams supervise newly authorised and high-growth firms.
What will you be doing? As a Technical Specialist, you will take a key role in supporting, shaping and implementing the strategy for early and high-growth oversight supervision and our banking and insurance authorisations functions. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify potential harm and opportunities to support innovation in the UK financial services market.
You will also provide expert technical leadership on banking and insurance authorisation cases, ensuring that we continue to meet our regulatory obligations while fostering a positive and collaborative environment for growth.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement and support a data-driven strategy for early and high growth oversight supervision and banking and insurance authorisations, helping to identify risks and opportunities. Horizon scan the banking and insurance sectors and collaborate with cross-departmental teams to harness data to monitor emerging trends and innovations. Provide expert technical leadership on banking and insurance authorisation cases, supporting decision-making processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and developing capability in others. Develop and influence the FCA's data strategy to deliver our strategic ambitions and contribute to policy development and thought leadership within the Authorisations division, particularly concerning the oversight of early and high-growth firms. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulated firms and industry bodies, to promote understanding and support innovation in financial services. Actively contribute to and support the development of the FCA's broader priority objectives of promoting competition, consumer protection, and market integrity. What will you get from the role? Minimum Prior experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on banking, insurance, or early-stage/high-growth firms. Prior experience of developing strategy and fast-paced delivery. Prior experience of presenting complex proposals to senior stakeholders. Essential Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework for banking and/or insurance sectors. Demonstrable ability to use data and analytics to inform decision-making and identify trends, risks, or opportunities. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders. Collaborative approach and experience supporting in cross-functional teams. A proactive and delivery focussed mindset with an ability to design approaches that facilitate safe and sustainable growth.
