Job summary **Permanent & Fixed term/Secondment Opportunity until 07/09/2025 available**Edgefield ward is a 36 bedded acute Urology ward providing care for patients on both the elective and non-elective.
We specialise in caring for complex urology patients which include lithotripsy treatment and robotic surgery.Our nursing teams work alongside a range of dedicated Healthcare professionals to deliver a collaborative and integrated care using a multi-disciplinary approach.As a new member of the Edgefield team, you will be offered every opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to care for a range of complex patients.Edgefield ward is seeking ambitious, enthusiastic nurses who have the desire to develop their professional career.

Main duties of the job Work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team within the multi-disciplinary framework.
Maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse.Act as a leader in the clinical area, in the absence of a more senior member of staff.
To work in accordance with the principles set out by the Nursing/Midwifery professional bodies and Trust Policies.To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.

Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence.2.
To have successfully completed the Trusts preceptorship programme.3.
Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice.4.
Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care without supervision.5.
Carry out the daily personal care of patients.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register Mentorship preparation programme (or required to complete once in post) if applicable to clinical area Willingness to further develop knowledge and skills Willingness to act as a Link Nurse for the Ward / Department Willingness to develop IT and computer skills appropriate to the role Desirable Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and maintenance of a Personal, Professional Profile Experience Essential Recent experience of nursing in an acute hospital environment Skills Essential Excellent communication and inter-personal skills Ability to maintain high standards of care Attitude, aptitude Essential Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
