We are excited to appoint additional Registered Nurses to continue growing Ashgate inpatient services in line with our strategy and planned quality improvements.
Our Inpatient Unit is a 15 bedded facility and patients are admitted to our Inpatient Unit for complex symptom management and complex end of life care.
We work closely with the hospice community specialist nurses, supportive care, specialist therapy and medical teams, to ensure we provide holistic individualised care to patients and their those important to them.

Main duties of the job As a Registered Nurse (RGN) specialising in hospice care, you will play a vital role in delivering high quality specialist palliative and end of life nursing care as part of the Inpatient Unit multidisciplinary team.
Working within a hospice team, your primary responsibility will be to assess and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and those important to them.Working within Ashgates ambitions and values, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans that prioritise comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
Patients that are admitted to our Inpatient Unit require specialist palliative care such as complex symptom management and end of life care.
Treatments may include blood transfusions, antibiotics and intravenous fluids.
About us Ashgate Hospice offers free, compassionate care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses such as cancer and neurological diseases.
Based in North Derbyshire, we provide palliative and end of life care, ensuring our patients are well-supported and comfortable.
Our services also extend to the people who are important to them, offering practical help and emotional support.
The majority of our services are funded through community generosity, with over 60% of our budget coming from donations and 31% from local NHS contributions.

Job description Job responsibilities We are seeking well-motivated and forward-thinking Registered Nurses with an interest in end of life care to join our RCN award-winning multi-disciplinary team on our Inpatient Unit.
The right person for this role will have a passion for working collaboratively in an environment thriving on positive change and making a difference to those with palliative and end of life care needs, including patients, those important to them and colleagues alike.
As a Registered Nurse you, will join our RCN award-winning multi-disciplinary team on our Inpatient Unit and you will: Plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care strategies for patients and their carers in an open and cooperative manner respecting the rights of the individual.Anticipate and react to the changing needs of patients and emotionally prepared the patient and those important to them.Participate in MDT discussions to inform the management plan for patients.Work In conjunction with the band sixes, lead on the day-to-day management of the discharge process.
Disseminate the management plans for the patients to the rest of the nursing team.Manage the admission of patients.Complete the verification of the death process when a patient dies.
