Job Description What will the role involve?
You will be responsible for editing copy to fit allocated space and fact-checking copy to ensure accuracy at all times.
You will write correct and effective headlines, always adhering to Reach's branding and house style rules.
You will handle changing stories and updates with ease, updating copy quickly and accurately.
You will also make sure all copy is legally sound and meets IPSO guidelines and Reach's standards.
This position will involve weekend working so a flexible approach is required.
Qualifications Who are we looking for?
An experienced journalist with  your NCTJ or equivalent qualification and media law knowledge , you will have a depth of experience in journalism, at a national or large regional title.
You will have extensive knowledge of the intricacies of print news, with a proven track record of sub editing for print titles.
You have the knowledge and skill to judge if copy needs to be edited and when required, the ability to rewrite accurate copy quickly and efficiently.
You can write accurate, hard-hitting and entertaining headlines, always able to meet the very high standards Reach requires.
